Information Technologist: - Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Windows - Knowledge and experience with Windows Administration tools(Active Directory) - Knowledge and experience with IIS - Experience with a multitude of PC Hardware - Experience with Red Hat Linux, CentOS, or another rpm based distribution. - Experience with Debian, Ubuntu, or another deb based distribution. - Experience or Understanding of Cisco Switches, routers, and/or firewalls - Experience with MS SQL Server, FoxPro experience a plus - Understanding of SQL - Understanding of Open Source Databases, MySQL, PostgreSQL, sqlite - Understanding of host-based firewalls, experience with iptables, pf a plus - Understanding of Basic Shell scripting (sh,bash,csh,ksh, or tclsh) - Understanding of sed, awk, pipes and redirection - Understanding of VBS, powershell a plus. - Understanding of GNU tools like screen, make, gcc, to name a few. - Understanding of Ethernet,802.1q,TCP,UDP,IP,and the OSI model - Familiarity with VMware or other virtualization platforms - Familiarity with LDAP, experience with OpenLDAP or fedora-ds a plus - Familiarity with SMTP, experience with Exchange, Postfix, sendmail or exim - Familiarity with Storage Area Networks, Experience with Clariion a plus - Familiarity with SNMP, experience with Nagios and RRDTool a plus. - Familiarity with ssh, scp, sftp, experience with key authentication a plus - Familiarity with public/private key encryption - Familiarity with HTML, Javascript, AJAX a plus - Cursory knowledge of scripting (one or more of) perl, python, or ruby - Runs Linux for Personal use. - Ability to independently research problems and RTFM. - Good grasp of IT fundamentals. - Passion for technology - Paranoid about security - Driving need to create elegant solutions to complex problems
